Since last
year, the Breakthrough Overcomers' Fellowship has been held on every first
Monday of the month, from 7.30pm to 8.45.30pm at Breakthrough centre. It is an
important platform for those former Breakthrough residents who have reintegrated
to society for fellowship and sharing.
This
fellowship is led by brother Koh Choon Huat. According to brother Choon Huat,
he arranged the meetings in the evenings as it may be more convenient for those
who come for the sharing. The program focuses on bible study in small groups,
to emphases the importance of listening to God's Word, followed by personal
updates and time of prayer. The participants usually number between 25 to 30,
and they may have reintegrated to society for as short as a year to as long as
15 years. Among them are 3 couples.
Brother Mok
Chee Kiong joined the fellowship about a year ago. He shared that, "The
former resident needs the support of 4 kinds of network so that his spiritual
life can grow. These are the church life, the small group fellowship, the
family fellowship and the Overcomers' Fellowship. Thus the reason that I join
in the fellowship is to serve as a reminder to myself, and a motivation. It is
impossible to avoid difficulties and strife in work and daily life, but in this
fellowship, the sharing and prayer give me the motivation to carry on."
