Hurrah it’s
July! The month Breakthrough Missions celebrates its anniversary.
It was a
very happy gathering of more than 700 guests, which included representatives
from Breakthrough Missions overseas. We were privileged to have Mr Desmond Lee,
Minister for National Development and Minister-in-charge of Social Services
Integration, as the Guest-of-honour. Minister Lee's presence was a great
encouragement to us. Not only did he participate in all the celebration
programs, he also visited the workshops; he greeted the Breakthrough brothers
and their family and chatted with them. He listened attentively to the
presentation of our ministry and future plans and had dinner fellowship with
our board members.
Brother Simon
Neo, Executive Director of Breakthrough Missions, shared the theme message:
"Seek Ye First the Kingdom of God and His Righteousness''. His exhortation
was that we, the disciples and followers of the Lord Jesus Christ, are to
acknowledge His Lordship and have Him as the focus and centre of all our
ministries. We shall magnify and glorify Him as our Lord, and we are to offer
our lives to love God and men in fulfilling His great commission for us.
Breakthrough Missions has remained faithful to the Gospel-based drug
rehabilitation mission because of the sacrificial love of the Lord Jesus
Christ. The Lord is our Jehovah Jireh and His provision for us has never
ceased. Hallelujah!
In the past
36 years the Lord enabled Breakthrough Missions to overcome an arduous journey
and led us to where we are today. Witnesses of our journey include Professor
Ling San, Chairman of the Anniversary and Thanksgiving celebration, Secretary
of Breakthrough Missions' Executive Committee and Deputy President (Academic)
of Nanyang Technological University, the Most Reverend Dr John Chew, Honorary
Advisor of Breakthrough Missions, Executive Committee members, hundreds of brothers
and their families, overcomers as well as representatives of overseas
Breakthrough Missions. Breakthrough Missions never walked alone. Our God the
Lord accompanied us and paved the way for us to get to where He wanted us to
be, so that we could continue to fulfil the great mission of the Gospel-based
drug rehabilitation. All glory be to our Father in heaven!
